In the beginning was a huge cloud. Gradually, over eons of time, bits of this cloud are grouped and merged. Then suddenly one day – poof! Got it hot enough to start a nuclear reaction (and that is very hot). The Sun and the planets appeared, and, after some attacks around were established in the configuration we know today, the Earth is in a nice distance from the sun and warm weather. In these circumstances it was inevitable (!) That life formed and eventually became animals, plants and the human race.
If you look at the history of mankind, it is obvious that human beings not really communicate at all for about two and a half million years. Enough time to sit and look at your neighbor. No wonder they developed stone axes and decided they hit each other with them. Must have been absolutely sick of the sight of each other.
Eventually, however, about 50,000 years ago, someone he got the bright idea that might be good to talk, and language came into existence. It was like a virus. Everyone was chatting with everyone else. Earth totally silent for the past 4.5 billion years, suddenly became a noisy place.
The stories were invented, so people could remember what had happened before. The stories became sagas as the amount of recall was enormous. As time passed, sagas became available through and everything started to be a little difficult to remember. The other day, the human brain suddenly crossed the threshold size with inventing writing. What a day it was. The Only problem was: what on earth to write?
They tried a few things. Arena: no problem writing it, but words tend to get deleted quickly. Rock: you can scratch it a bit, but it was hard work to get any amount of information down. Then someone thought in animal skins. This seems to be OK, apart from two minor problems. First, the animals and did not object strongly, so that the chosen tended to be of diminutive size. This meant that either had to write very small or point of a lot of skins together. The other problem was that they began to smell the few days and then shortly afterwords rotted, once again defeating the object of the exercise.
The human brain that have affected other large threshold about 7000 years, and suddenly someone thought it would be a good idea to go find a few sticks and canes together, remove the outside and use the sticky bit in the middle. Bash it all together with a hammer, making it even more sticky mess, and eventually all the weight down and let dry. Thus was born the papyrus, and added that the Egyptians. In this point it seems that the ability of the human brain began to know no boundaries, and in no time at all (c 2,000 years ago) paper was invented. This could be written with easily, do not disintegrate and can be copied over and over again. What's more, it could be put together to make books. Libraries soon came to be, holding all the wisdom of human history. There was a minor blip when the library of Alexandria was burnt down, taking about 3 / 4 of world knowledge with him, but it was not long to go to work all over again.
In the 19th century a man named Babbage invented something called "Difference Engine" the world's first computer. In the first computer data was stored on paper, but this method requires a lot of trees, masses of space assumed storage, and no one accepted the reading anyway. So someone invented the paper tape. It is a breakthrough, as it was even harder read than print, but I can at least back in the team. After that came the reel to reel tapes. Wonderful. Now you can retrieve any information you wanted. Just had to remember that the tape was on, and I hope the machine operators were not in a cafe.
Finally we move into the 21st century. Someone has invented a way of storing data in a cloud. Just look above you and you can see what a breakthrough this is. In the United Kingdom is certainly a lot of storage space. This is the future! Unlimited online storage of documents, up in the clouds. His plans are stored in a safe in a nice big cloud hanging over Manchester. Never lose data if there is a cloud on Manchester.
There are more clouds on Earth that any use, but if we never run out of them, look up in heaven. Venus is covered by them, and Jupiter, with an area of more than 120 times that of Earth, is an inexhaustible source. Is there any other technology advance beyond Cloud Computing? Maybe so, but it is not necessary at this time. There are a lot of space tag to store all knowledge of the world for hundreds of years to come. So we can all live happily ever after, knowing that everything is safe, accessible, and constantly backup.
