Over 90% of Americans suffer from back pain during their lifetime. Surpassed only by the common cold, the most common disease affecting us here in the U.S.. A painful back is the most common cause of lost working time and work accidents.

Back pain is actually a epidemic.

Like all the common diseases you might think that medical science already have an answer to this problem. This statement is partially correct. Although millions of dollars are spent on research of pain in the lower back and its causes, it still represents a condition that often becomes chronic.

Why back pain is so difficult to treat?

The conditions of the reason again appear to resist treatment is manifold. The most common obstacles to a cure for low back pain:

• Inadequate medical training
• The lack of experience in the field of medicine
• Misdiagnosis
• Strategies for reducing costs of Insurance
• The lack of monitoring by patients and physicians
• Poor patient education

But probably the number one reason why patients continue to suffer again is …

Doctors' lack of willingness to change and dependence persistently failed treatments (drugs, bed rest, surgery, to name a few)

The medical literature is very clear; back some resources that have been used ad nauseam, just do not work.

Drugs: Recent studies have found that pain (Pain) are more trouble than any positive benefit. Side effects such as constipation and dependence are only two. drug studies also muscle relaxants have been shown not to be a very effective remedy again.

Prescription anti-inflammatories have been found to be more effective in relieving inflammation of the prescription products. And as a whole have not been found to be effective in relieving chronic back pain moderate and have many dangerous side effects liver and stomach bleeding and kidney problems.

Bed rest is an old favorite from the 1940 through 1970. This "treatment" has been thoroughly refuted over and over again in various studies. In fact, bed rest seems to have back pain worse!

Despite past failures, if you have back problems and seek medical treatment from your primary care physician is likely that he or she will recommend one or more of these faults tested. And this is precisely why so many people continue to be victims of back pain condition and a cure for back pain remains difficult for many.

But what about alternatives to traditional medical treatment again? What about acupuncture and chiropractic?

The evidence here also is unassailable. Many studies over the past two decades suggest free medical procedures such as acupuncture and chiropractic are effective to alleviate conditions back-in most cases. There are certain conditions that do not deal well with these procedures and represent a high degree of failures in this discipline to relieve pain back.

The problem with these treatments is that few people make use of them. Although the use of alternatives such as acupuncture and chiropractic are on the rise year to year, yet there are very few people who use these services. So most people with low back pain are only using treatments physicians.
