Infertility is usually defined as the inability to produce offspring. With the constant advances in technology, a lot of new solutions to this dilemma of age are now available. You can choose to or IUI (sperm is placed inside the female reproductive system) or in vitro fertilization (Fertilization occurs outside the body in a glass dish, also called IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (injection of sperm into the egg). But there is a way to resolve the infertility that has been tested by time, and that is acupuncture.

Acupuncture is a part of Oriental medicine that has existed for long. In acupuncture points fine needles are inserted into specific body points to treat pain or disease or conditions such as infertility. Acupuncture establishing healthy body function by restoring the natural flow of energy through the use of needles for stimulation. Acupuncture triggers the release of "endorphins" neurochemistry that reduces pain and results of positive mood. Along with that neurohormones and neurotransmitters also flow in the body – these chemicals that serve as an aid in the healing process.

The use of acupuncture as a cure for infertility has been documented in ancient Chinese writings of a medical nature. Besides the typical needle insertion, but also includes exercises to improve energy flow in one's body. However, due to modernization of acupuncture, which is now practiced in conjunction with other treatments for infertility in order to handle problems like hormonal imbalance.

Acupuncture is often compared to the process of physical therapy rehabilitation. Although there are drawbacks likely to compensate, modern acupuncture for the treatment of acupuncture have a lot of advantages. Yet another positive point about acupuncture is that it works well with the herbs in the treatment various physiological conditions such as high follicle stimulating hormone (regulates the reproductive process of the body), repeated pregnancy loss, defect luteal phase (pregnancy can not be sustained due to rupture of the uterine wall resulting in menstrual bleeding and then causes miscarriage), ovary syndrome polycystic or SOP (irregular menstrual cycle), sperm DNA fragmentation in men and hyperprolactinemia when the cause is not prolactinoma (presence of abnormally Elevated prolactin in the blood).

However, although excellent results were recorded, it is still best to consult your doctor and get their recommendation before trying acupuncture.
