If you are injured at work, now you can choose acupuncture as a form of rehabilitation of sick or injured workers' compensation. The Department Industrial Relations revisions made to current workers' compensation laws in 2007 saying: "Acupuncture is used as an option when medications pain is reduced or not tolerated, can be used as an adjunct to physical rehabilitation and / or surgery to accelerate functional recovery. "This was a big step for the acceptance of acupuncture in the Western world and a blessing for patients who wish to use natural medicine to heal. California law also requires the treatments to be "scientifically based, nationally recognized and peer reviewed." It is comforting to know that acupuncture has met all standards in the western community and has been accepted not only as a form of preventative health, but a true form of healing.

There are three ways you can choose use of acupuncture for workers' compensation case. These options are: (1) provider network, (2) designation by the supplier and (3) on hold for 30 days.

Your first choice will depend on their employers insurance company that has an acupuncturist in your MPN. The company Insurance is a group of health professionals who have chosen to be part of their health care network. If injured, your employer will refer to a provider within the network. If you do not like that provider, you may select another provider within the network.

Option two requires you to preview your acupuncturist appointment as its supplier in case of accident. You should have seen the pre-injury acupuncturist, the acupuncturist must have medical records you (as long as I have tried, I should have) and a form stating that you wish to make a prior appointment must be completed before the injury or illness. In addition, for this to be effective, its company should offer group health insurance.

Your third option requires a wait of 30 days. Although your insurance company requires employers to see someone within your network the first 30 days, you are entitled to visit any health professional you want, provided it is recognized by the Department of Industrial Relations. Now that acupuncture falls in this category, please start using acupuncture in their path to recovery.

Remember that there are three ways you can choose use of acupuncture for a workers compensation case. If you have used acupuncture in the past and I know how powerful this drug may be, your acupuncturist prior designation as a provider of workers' compensation as soon as possible.
