Acupuncture that is regarded as one of the ancient healing therapies in the world has its roots in China. Acupuncture, which has its origin in China, has been practiced for thousands of years everywhere across the world. Acupuncture has proved helpful in many chronic diseases and proved as a boon to the patients and their family. With increased globalization and exchange of views and other parameters, the system of medicine also attempts to enter into the others’ territories. It is an ongoing process, which results in giving world class treating mechanisms and ultimately results in better way of healing. As there are many cases that represent the audacity of the claim of treating by one system of medicine establishing itself as superior, yet there are no guarantees that a particular medicine system will eventually succeed in giving relief to the patient. However, there are attempts that go on in justifying the superiority of a particular medicine system and it applies to all the healing systems of the world. In fact, it is primarily the result of enhanced globalization.
However, just a few decades back, it was not easy for acupuncture to register itself in the circles of alternate treatments vociferously. One of the prominent reasons lies in the then prevailing attitudes towards this needling therapy. As western philosophy believes in rationality, its mindset towards healing asserts itself in modern way of healing and treating. Acupuncture thus, remained an alien to them for quite a long time, especially when they talked about healing a person with understanding based on their view towards life, firmly grounded in the basic principles of science. That is how acupuncture was rejected largely and taken from an entirely different perspective. For many years, it was believed that the evidence supporting acupuncture was merely anecdotal. However, for the past 20 years, acupuncture has seen tremendous growth as people in Europe have changed their attitudes drastically towards it.
There are so many substantial case studies underlying in the vicinities of Europe that acupuncture may be regarded as one of the therapies, which in fact works when applied by any of the acupuncture experts. In the wake of this, just a few days back, there was one of the famous case happened in Boston, where acupuncture succeeded in treating a patient from chronic backache. This case in Boston substantiated that acupuncture really works and not only works for minor ailments wherein it has the capacity of treating major ailments as well. There are scores of patients who were suffering from one or the other disease, but when exposed to Acupuncture Therapy, they showed considerable signs of improvement. Moreover, that is why we witness a good number of acupuncture therapy centers opening in the vicinities of Boston and other European regions as well. Considering the present growth rate, acupuncture seems to be heading towards replacing the already established therapies, however much depends on the time and research work undertaken with the passage of time.
