Nutrition and Supplementation
Not much you can do in the way of nutrition to improve their comfort or health during an outbreak of chickenpox, the better you can do is drink pure vegetable broth and freshly made juice with protein powder and brewer's yeast added. These will provide nutrients and help maintain your skin in healthy condition while recovering. When the fever goes down, your appetite returns to normal. Be kind to your body and start slowly, eating a diet of mashed bananas avocado, fresh apple sauce or yogurt. Do not eat cooked or processed foods.
Chickenpox compromises the immune system, which is important to supplement the nutrients specifically for the construction of immunity. The following adult daily supplementation program should help. Parents should consult with a professional health for appropriate dosages for children.
mixed carotenoid formula (15,000 IU), stimulates the immune system
Vitamin An emulsion (100,000 IU for 1 week, then 75,000 IU for 1 week, not exceed 8000 IU daily if you are pregnant)-an immunostimulant that aids in tissue healing, the emulsion is easier to assimilate

Aromatherapy
To reduce the intense itching healing associated with chickenpox and blisters OFI speed, creating a soothing blend of essential oils. To the mixture, mix 1 teaspoon of distilled water and water witch hazel and 3 drops each of German chamomile, lavender and tea tree oil. Sponge the blisters, as needed.
Hydrotherapy
To calm the maddening itch of chickenpox, try a warm bath to which you have added 1 to 2 cups of baking soda or powder uncooked oats (Avena especially bath preparations available in pharmacies). Soak for 15 minutes, gently pat dry, not rub, or you'll increase the itching.
