Flirtingly glimpsed from under a long skirt or peeking from the end of harem pants, the feet of a dancer – but not the obvious approach – play an important role.
Our feet are a complex collection of 26 bones and 33 joints in a web of 126 muscles, ligaments and nerves. On average we spent four hours a day on your feet and take 8,000 to 10,000 steps. Compared to the rest of our body, our feet are very small and every step that puts about 50% more our body weight in them. On an average day's feet support a combined force equal to several hundred tons. In addition to supporting our bodies, our feet act as buffers and move forward, helping to balance and adjust your body on uneven surfaces.
Taking these facts into consideration that we should not surprised that our feet are vulnerable to injury. Some factors may increase the risk of injury include:
or lack of experience – beginners may be vulnerable to injury because they lack the skills to meet the physical demands of their chosen dance style. Follow the instructions of his teacher.
or fitness poor – weak muscles more prone to break when challenged or stretched. Progressions gradually increase your fitness and improve muscle strength.
or poor technique – for example, with the foot to the ground with more force than necessary can injure soft tissue and bone.
Poor posture or – Muscle weakness in the back and abdomen increase the risk of injury in all areas of the body including the spine and legs.

What is reflexology?
Reflexology is the physical act of systematic manual stimulation through variable pressure reflexes located in the hands and feet.
Concrete evidence of the practice of reflexology in ancient times is shown in a mural painting depicting the practice of hand and foot reflexology in the tomb of Ankhmahor (The highest official after the Pharaoh) at Saqqara, dating from about 2330 BC (Before Common Era)
Before this discovery, it was believed that reflexology was of ancient origin and is believed to have evolved along with the ancient practice of acupuncture in China. Similarly, men of medicine in North America India is believed to manipulate and stimulate the feet as part of their healing practice.
Modern reflexology was popularized by Eunice Ingham, a physiotherapist, who brought Reflexology for the American public and the medical community does as well as Naturopaths, Osteopaths Podiatrists, Massage therapists and physical therapists until death in 1974.
What can you expect from a reflexology treatment?
Reflexology is a non-invasive, drug free treatment. Your doctor take a medical history before treatment. Never be asked to undress, but asked to remove shoes and socks. While sitting in a chair comfortable, you receive a therapeutic foot soak with aromatherapy component, if you want. The doctor will begin with relaxation techniques followed by application firm but gentle pressure to each reflex points on the hands and feet. Many customers find that this is deeply relaxing and taking a nap during treatment will last approximately 45 minutes. After treatment it is advisable to drink plenty of cool water to help remove toxins from your body and eat lightly for the rest of the day.
