Is the art of healing Reiki energy a legitimate practice? Here we attempt to answer these questions.

Doctors, nurses, researchers and other have evaluated the effectiveness of Reiki therapy in the areas of chronic pain, disability, mobility, daily activities, sleep problems and reliance on medication. Psychological symptoms such as stress, panic, fear, anger, depression, anxiety and inability to relax or deal have been evaluated before and after treatment. The investigation is ongoing in the areas of fibromyalgia, diabetes, AIDS and cancer. So far, all the findings indicate that Reiki and other forms of healing touch therapy are effective complementary therapies with little or no negative side effects.

Does the Reiki energy pain relief real?

In 1997, Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona, published the story of Tom. This is just one example of the effectiveness of Reiki energy pain relief. There are many others, but when it comes to pain, no one can argue that advanced cancer pain is agonizing. Anything that can make the last days of a patient a blessing is more comfortable.

During my time working in a nursing home, I spent many hours with patients who had to choose between agonizing pains or drug-induced stupor. At that time, the power of healing touch or Reiki healing energy therapy has not been recognized or accepted. Acting on a desire to help nurses and palliative care workers have assumed the responsibility to learn the art of healing and add to their treatment options.

But back to the story of Tom. Tom had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and was given little time to live. Its symptoms include pain stasis and swelling.

After receiving Reiki energy healing therapy hospice nurse, he was taught to use Reiki energy. He was taught on the establishment of "Intention" of using Reiki energy, something that seems very important to Reiki to be effective.

Researchers concluded that the therapy effectively reduces stress and pain, while improving the body's ability to fight infection and that the conclusions were not only the result of the placebo effect.

Is the art of healing Reiki energy a legitimate practice?

The National Center for Complementary Medicine Reiki and Alternative recognized as a form of energy medicine that deserves further study. The researchers would like to be able to explain "how" because there is no doubt that "works" for many people. Although it may still be critical, as always, most people in the professions health care have come to accept the legitimacy of Reiki.
