A coworker recently approached me to ask if her sister would be allowed to book a massage, although it is six months pregnant.

"Of course! There is not really the best." I answered.

Pregnancy massage is a wonderful way for mothers-to-be to relax rejuvenate, and release some of the stress that your body is subjected to nine months. While massage obviously feels great, there are many other benefits.

The benefits of massage during pregnancy (also known as prenatal massage) are similar in many respects to the standard Swedish massage. These benefits include, but are not limited to:

o Promotion of muscle relaxation and stress relief

or reduce the heart rate and blood pressure

o Increased blood circulation and lymphatic flow, thus stimulating the body to release stagnant waste, held in the tissue

o Promoting deeper breathing and a general feeling of well being

o Promotion of faster repair and healing of muscle tissue stretched or strained

o Strengthen the immune system by stimulating the body to maintain or return to homeostasis (optimal balance in the body best fights injury or illness)

or satisfaction of the need for nurturing touch

Other reported benefits of women who have experienced a massage during pregnancy include:

or lesser number of obstetrical complications and postpartum

or reduction in births Preterm rates

or shorter or less painful births and fewer days of hospital stay

or reducing the swelling of the hands and feet

or less lower back and sciatic pain

or fewer cases of postpartum depression and anxiety (due to stress hormones less in the blood)

While any healthy woman, pregnant women can receive massage, there are some precautions that the massage therapist must observe to ensure that your client is safe during and after the massage. From the woman's body is in a state of such physical and hormonal changes, massage is limited to second quarter and third. This does not mean that women can not receive spa services during their first trimester. The Heads Up Massage, a facial or a manicure are great ways to relieve stress during this time.

As with any massage, the massage therapist must be alert to any health problem prophetic. This is especially important during pregnancy. Circumstances in which massage during pregnancy should not be performed include high blood pressure, diabetes, fever, unusual abdominal pain or vomiting, or any malignant condition. Varicose veins and swelling are other conditions that the therapist should be aware of before the massage, but the service can still safely despite these. Some standard precautions, the clinician include the failure to prevent deep pressure and heat so as not to have the blood of the fetus. Some pressure points on the body and feet also be avoided, since they are connected with the promotion of premature contractions and labor. While taking precautions before, during and after pregnancy massage is important, most customers have no problem because they can relax and enjoy free massages concerns.

Before the massage, the therapist will prepare the special treatment room for mother-to-be. pregnancy special pads are used to allow the mother to lay on your back and in his stomach, no matter how advanced. For pregnant women, this in itself is a luxury. The therapist tells the client about how to lie on pads to ensure complete comfort and support. Once the massage is in progress, the therapist will pay special attention to areas of tension or discomfort developed during or even before pregnancy. This is the perfect time to take a deep breath, enjoying the feel of parenting, and let stress melt away. Often, soft music, soft lighting and warm bedding for the mother to rest and relax in your room.

While getting a massage during pregnancy is undoubtedly beneficial, treat yourself to an hour massage once a month, or even just two or three times before giving birth, can do wonders for the health of the mother and child. Pregnancy massage is a beautiful process – a delight for the mom-to-be, and honor for the therapist.
